An engaging introductory course by Create Science in building and programming robots for ages 8+
Description
This is a 4-Week program occurring every Monday (May 12th, May 26th, June 2nd, and June 9th) from 4:30 pm - 6pm This course is appropriate for children 8 to 12 years of age. Younger children with good reading and math skills including angle calculation can register. Program: Each student will be assigned a robot and tablet for a progressive learning experience, starting with foundational robot controls and building up to complex programming challenges. Weekly Lesson Breakdown: Week 1: Build BaseBot Assemble a Vex IQ BaseBot and learn the basics of block-based coding. Week 2: Robot Navigation Program your robot to follow a path, driving and turning with precise measurements. Week 3: Speedy Delivery Build and connect a claw to pick up and move objects. Experiment with velocity and see how it impacts your code. Week 4: Maze Competition Navigate through a maze with solid walls and move blocks in a friendly competition for the fastest time. Continued learning opportunities will be made available. Create Science is a nonprofit that provides accessible community programs for kids and families across the GTA. Cancellation Policy
All cancellations made more than 30 days prior to camp start date may receive a full refund however, cancellations within 30 days of the start date are nonrefundable. You may reschedule to a date that has availability by contacting us at least 15 days prior to camp start date. No rescheduling or refunds are available after within 15 days of the start date. You may transfer your booking to another child by contacting us 2 days prior to camp start day. No transfer can occur after this point in time or during the camp week.
